Raul Fernandez accuses Marco Bezzecchi: “He did it on purpose”

Trackhouse rider Raúl Fernández has leveled serious accusations against his teammate Marco Bezzecchi following a crash at the first corner of the Sprint race in Indonesia. The Spanish rider, who started from pole position, went down after making contact with the Rimini-born rider, who also ended up in the gravel.
“The start? I’m angry—it was a nasty, unsportsmanlike move, and that’s what upsets me the most. In motorsport, you can’t get angry if a rider makes a mistake; I don’t want to get into what happened during the crash, because that kind of thing can happen. The problem is when you make a bad move…,” he told Sky.
“In this case, Marco made a bad move—a really bad one. I just can’t understand it. If it happens because of a mistake, that’s fine. The problem is when you do it on purpose. I had positioned myself in the middle of the track to defend my position, and Marco had gotten off to a good start. But every time he got close to me, he pushed me wide, until I braked on the white line. With these bikes, we know you can’t brake on the white line, and yet he still pushed me off. He opened the door for two Ducatis—our direct rivals—and let them pass.”
Raul Fernandez broke a finger: “This makes me angrier than anything else; I have a broken finger and maybe I won’t be able to race tomorrow despite getting pole. Look at what he did from the helicopter.”
