Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso warns Marc Marquez: “They might consider it”

Former Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso spoke on his YouTube channel about Marc Marquez and his quest to win his tenth World Championship title. According to the rider from Forlì, the Catalan phenom will have to contend with multiple rivals from the same manufacturer who will stand in his way: a very tough challenge. “If we analyze the situation from Aprilia’s perspective and consider who they’re up against, they might think about it and consider different strategies to stop him.”

The Catalan rider, who is fighting to win his tenth world title, has signed with the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer through the 2027 World Championship. Many believe Marquez might decide to leave at the end of 2026 if he wins the title, but Dovizioso disagrees.

“These are things only his inner circle knows. Logically, he doesn’t want to talk about it, and in fact, he doesn’t. I don’t know. My feeling is that if he manages to win again this year, he’ll be content, at peace with himself, and won’t seek anything else. He’d stay on more out of respect for Ducati, but without any particular expectations.”

“If he’s fast, he might give it a try, but without expectations—not with the same attitude he’s had this year, where he’s squeezing every last drop out of it—and perhaps just to enjoy his final year, and that will be enough. That’s the impression I’ve gotten.”
