Francisco Conceição Loses His Cool—A Baffling Reaction

The Conceiçao controversy erupts at Juventus. The Portuguese forward reacted angrily when he was substituted in the second half of the Europa League match between Celta Vigo and the Bianconeri.
The Portuguese winger did not take Luciano Spalletti’s decision to substitute him well at all; Spalletti opted to bring on Nico Gonzalez in his place in the 64th minute. Conceiçao, extremely agitated, threw a series of punches at the Bianconeri bench, then exchanged words with a member of the coaching staff, and finally walked off the field toward the locker room.
The player changed his mind after a few minutes and took his seat on the bench with the rest of the team, but he risks paying dearly for his reaction. Conceiçao had also disappointed in Cagliari, when the Tuscan coach decided to substitute him at halftime.
Juventus went on to win the match 2-1, coming back from Alvarez’s opening goal with strikes by Woltemade and Kolo Muani.
