Giuseppe Sannino’s third stint as Bellinzona’s head coach has come to an end after just one month. The Italian coach had been brought back to the Swiss club in September to replace Francesco Pargalia, but he was unable to deliver the turnaround in results demanded by owner Renato Sergi, with whom he reportedly had disagreements in recent days.

The Sopracenerina-based club thus announced the end of the relationship: “ACB 1904 SA announces that, following a meeting between management and Coach Giuseppe Sannino, the parties have agreed to a mutual termination of the contractual relationship effective immediately. The decision was reached through a calm discussion and with full mutual respect, also taking into account the coach’s desire to prioritize personal and family needs.”

“The club has accepted this decision with understanding, recognizing the importance of these reasons. Riccardo Abbenante, previously the assistant coach, will serve as interim head coach of the first team, ensuring continuity in the team’s work.”

Bellinzona is currently in last place in the Promotion League standings. Sannino also coached the Swiss team in 2025 and throughout last season.
