A terrifying evening for former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico. As reported by the Spanish program “Vamos a ver,” on Monday evening, five hooded men broke into the home where the goalkeeper lives with his wife, Alba Silva, and their two children in Seville.

The burglars entered the home just as the family was having dinner: while the five criminals, with their faces covered and wearing gloves, broke down the front door, Sergio Rico and his wife took their two young children and took refuge in one of the bedrooms.

The thieves stole several valuable items before disappearing without a trace. After leaving the room, Rico was able to alert the police. The goalkeeper confirmed the incident on social media, denying reports of a physical assault but expressing his deep fear over what had happened.

Sergio Rico is currently a free agent after spending two years with Al-Gharafa in the top division of the Qatari league. His career came to an abrupt halt in 2023 when he was the victim of a serious horseback riding accident that left him in a coma for nearly a month.
