Juventus: The Transfer Market Has Endless Possibilities—Raimondo and David United by 25 Million Euros

The paths of the transfer market are endless, and sometimes they end up crossing in surprising ways. Such is the case with Antonio Raimondo and Jonathan David, two forwards with very different career paths, but linked by one figure: 25 million euros. That is how much Juventus could receive from the permanent transfer of the Canadian to Atlético Madrid, and that same amount could be what the Bianconeri need to secure the young center forward owned by Bologna, who is currently on loan to Frosinone.

A scenario that, at least on paper, could allow the Turin-based club to finance a forward-looking investment through the departure of a player who has failed to reach his full potential during his time with the Bianconeri.

Raimondo, born in 2004, is one of the players Juventus is following most closely. The Ravenna-born forward started the season with impressive stats, scoring seven goals in the first seven league matches. Highlights of his early season include braces against Fiorentina and Venezia and a hat trick against Sassuolo—performances that have attracted the interest of several scouts.

Raimondo is owned by Bologna, with whom he is under contract through 2028 and has an option to extend the deal through 2029. His loan to Frosinone, however, is set to expire on June 30. The Emilia-based club’s valuation is reportedly around 25 million euros—a significant asking price for a young forward, but one that Juventus might consider.

The relationship between the two clubs—strengthened in part by the Lucumí deal—and the involvement of agent Alessandro Lucci, who has already played a key role in several transactions with the Turin-based club, could make any potential negotiations less complicated. Initial contacts have reportedly been made, although negotiations have not yet entered a decisive phase.

And this is where Jonathan David comes into play. The Canadian, after a season at Juventus that ended with eight goals in 36 Serie A appearances, has regained his confidence and consistency at Atlético Madrid. His performance in black and white had fallen short of expectations and, above all, of the numbers he posted in France, where he had never scored fewer than thirteen goals in a season.

The striker himself had said he felt particularly intense pressure during his time in Turin. In Spain, in a different environment and with less pressure on him, he has managed to regain a sense of calm.

Atlético Madrid is reportedly now favorably considering the possibility of exercising the option for a permanent transfer, set at exactly 25 million euros. This amount is considered manageable by the Spanish club and would represent a significant source of revenue for Juventus.

A certain degree of caution remains, especially in light of the precedent set by Nico González, whom the Colchoneros did not buy out despite his positive performances. In David’s case, however, the conditions appear more favorable for closing the deal.

And so the transfer market could yield an interesting trade-off: 25 million coming in for David, 25 million going out for Raimondo. Two independent deals, but potentially linked within Juventus’s strategy, as the club could replace an established forward with one of the most promising young Italian players.
