Juventus: Spalletti Fumes Over Disallowed Goal—Here’s What Happened

Luciano Spalletti was disappointed after the goal was disallowed in the closing minutes of Juventus vs. Rennes. The referee decided to disallow Lucumì’s goal for offside: the ball had previously been touched by a player from the French team, but according to the referee, it was unintentional.
The Bianconeri coach is skeptical and didn’t hesitate to make that clear after the game: “I was upset when I watched it again in the locker room, because he sees it leave, he sees it come back, and he has every opportunity to choose what to do. Then he makes the wrong move because he wants to kick it, but he makes the wrong move: it’s not like someone was in his way or anything. The referee wasn’t quite as good in handling these situations, but I don’t know the rules…”.
On the latest setback: “I’m satisfied with our attitude, because getting back into the game at a time like this was difficult. Kolo Muani and Woltemade? They played well today, but I think I can expect more from both of them because their qualities are better than the performance they put in tonight.”
The team seems to be struggling mentally: “When we fell behind, we were a bit worried, but this is a good team—they have technical, fast players with great potential, a strong club, and a strong youth academy with top-level players.”
