In the last few hours, Rick Macci’s X profile has been flooded with comments from Jannik Sinner’s fans: many took issue with the super coach’s latest post, sparking a wide-ranging social media discussion. Macci, who has coached champions such as Andy Roddick, Jennifer Capriati, Maria Sharapova, Serena, and Venus Williams throughout his career, has found himself in the eye of the storm for “forgetting” about Sinner.

“Carlos Alcaraz has unlimited potential and could reach the very highest levels. No one has his speed of execution; he has excellent racket control and is lightning-fast in transitions—all elements I’m certain he’ll continue to refine. Barring injuries, he’ll reach the level of Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer in the future,” wrote the coach.

The omission of Jannik Sinner sparked a reaction from the South Tyrolean’s fans: “Aren’t you forgetting anything, coach? Like an Italian guy with red hair… just saying,” wrote Alessandro, echoed by Enea: “Alcaraz is incredibly strong, no doubt about it, but you can’t leave out Sinner. He’s done incredible things—he’s out of this world!!”. There are hundreds of comments like this.

Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner broke his silence to congratulate Kimi Antonelli after the Mercedes driver’s victory in the United States Grand Prix. The Italian tennis player, a huge Formula 1 fan, followed the race in Austin with great interest—a race won by the young Italian driver, who is getting closer and closer to winning the World Championship.

The world’s number-one tennis player wanted to dedicate a message to his friend on social media, posting an Instagram Story featuring a video of Antonelli’s celebrations after crossing the finish line. “Congratulations on another victory, Kimi,” Sinner wrote, adding “awesome,” along with a heart and the Italian flag.
