Fabrizio Biasin engages in some harsh self-criticism

Fabrizio Biasin looks back on Rino Gattuso’s career and takes a jab at those who are now praising his work, recalling the negative assessments that surrounded the head coach on August 16.
“99% of those who are celebrating Gattuso today were bitterly convinced on August 16 (Lazio-Mantova 0-2) that he wouldn’t even make it through the season,” the journalist writes in a post, emphasizing how the opinion of Gattuso was quite different just a few months ago.
Biasin doesn’t distance himself from the group of critics; on the contrary, he openly admits to having shared those predictions: “I remember it well. And do you know why I remember it well? Because I was one of them.”
This stance makes the message even more direct. The journalist acknowledges that he underestimated the coach’s journey and concludes with a quip that references the classic Christmas tradition, often used in soccer to indicate the fate of a coach at risk of being fired: “Great Rino, enjoy your panettone.”
