Angelo Binaghi defends Darren Cahill and comments on rumors that Magnus Norman may join Jannik Sinner’s coaching staff starting next season, alongside Simone Vagnozzi. During an interview with Tg1, the FITP president emphasized the Australian coach’s importance in the development of the world No. 1, explaining what qualities the person who will work alongside the South Tyrolean in the future should possess.

“I’m rooting for Cahill because, in my opinion, he’s irreplaceable. It’s good for Sinner to always have a coach by his side who was a high-level player—first Cahill and then Norman. Secondly, that person also needs to be a good psychologist,” stated Binaghi, focusing on the qualities needed to guide the Italian champion on his journey.

The federation president then spoke about Sinner’s physical attributes and the work required to continue competing at the highest levels: “He’s not a superhuman like Djokovic or a player with immense strength like Nadal; he’s someone who needs to keep building up his physique.”

This is an important point to consider looking ahead to the coming seasons, given the South Tyrolean tennis player’s ambitions and the need to manage his energy and athletic conditioning effectively. Sinner has been sidelined since the Wimbledon final on July 12 and aims to return to the court by the end of the year, with the possibility of participating in the Six Kings Slam, the exhibition tournament scheduled to take place in Riyadh.
