The Halloween derby was dominated by the Rossoneri, leaving Inter with an evening to forget. Milan won 3-1 at San Siro, led by a decisive Moreira and a clinical performance on the counterattack. For the Nerazzurri, however, this marks yet another setback in a city derby, with a team that looked unrecognizable early on and was unable to complete a comeback in the second half.

The loss also carries historical significance for Cristian Chivu. The Romanian coach has become the first manager in Inter’s history to lose three consecutive derbies. This negative record highlights the Nerazzurri’s struggles against their Rossoneri rivals and makes the evening even more bitter.

After the match, Chivu analyzed the performance in an interview with Sky Sport, making no secret of his disappointment: “It hurts to lose a derby where expectations were different, given our seasonal goals and what we have to defend.” The coach acknowledged, above all, the mistakes in their approach: “We fought back, so it’s not all bad. Then, just before halftime, we gave away another goal.”

The coach then emphasized the need to rediscover determination and competitive edge: “We need to improve our approach, attitude, and determination. We have to turn the page because there’s an important match on Tuesday.”

Chivu also spoke about the difficulties related to the physical condition of some players, explaining the lineup choices and adjustments made. But the statistic that weighs heaviest of all remains the one regarding derbies: three consecutive losses—a negative record never before achieved by a Nerazzurri coach.
