Cagliari, major transfer uncertainty: two names for January

After an excellent start to the season, Cagliari has lost its way a bit and has struggled greatly in recent matches. Following the draw with Juventus came losses to Monza, Bologna, Roma, and Lazio: the upcoming match against Frosinone will be crucial for lifting the team’s spirits.
Partly due to these recent disappointing results, Fabio Pisacane is considering bolstering the offense during the winter transfer window, and two of the names being evaluated by the Rossoblù are Francesco Camarda and Jeff Ekhator.
The Milan center forward is seeing very little playing time: Ruben Amorim almost never leaves Gonçalo Ramos out of the lineup, despite the team’s dual commitments in the league and the Europa League, and it’s extremely tough for the 2008-born player. The Rossoneri are evaluating several options for the attack: should a new player arrive, Camarda would certainly be loaned out.
Jeff Ekhator joined Juventus this summer but was immediately struck by bad luck: he was injured during a friendly match in July and is only now recovering. Competition is fierce for him as well, and he’s unlikely to find the playing time he needs to regain top form.
Luciano Spalletti has already discussed this matter with Giovanni Carnevali, but the two haven’t reached a conclusion: the coming weeks will be crucial, but it’s likely they’ll opt for a loan. This way, Ekhator could get regular playing time and complete his development before returning to Turin to prove himself.
