The winter transfer window is just around the corner, and Juventus seems determined to take decisive action to strengthen its flanks. Among the potential targets on the horizon, one name stands out—one that’s no stranger to the Old Lady’s fans: Rayan Ait-Nouri. The French-Algerian left back, born in 2001, is reportedly considering leaving Manchester City as he finds himself on the fringes of Enzo Maresca’s plans: According to reports from ‘L’Equipe’, his representatives have resumed contact with Juve, which had been suspended last summer.

Signed by the Citizens for 37 million euros in the summer of 2025 following excellent seasons with Wolverhampton, the player is under contract with the Manchester club through 2030. However, under Maresca’s management, the Algerian international is seeing very little playing time and has remained on the fringes of the rotation, spending most matches on the bench or even in the stands.

The player’s patience, therefore, appears to have reached its limit. Ait-Nouri would like to make a move as early as the January transfer window to regain playing time and a starting role—a situation Juventus is watching with keen interest. As early as last summer’s transfer window, Juventus management had courted him at length, but the demands of both the club and the player were deemed excessively high. Now, however, the situation has changed, and both City and Ait-Nouri himself are ready to lower their demands.

Juventus is therefore preparing to assess the feasibility of the deal, with a loan featuring an option or obligation to buy (depending on the proposed terms) as the most likely options on the negotiating table. They face competition from Manchester’s other Premier League club, United—an option that doesn’t entirely convince the staff following the player, who is nonetheless ready to evaluate every offer in the coming weeks.
