Alessandro Del Piero on crutches: What happened during the game against Ronaldinho?

Alessandro Del Piero was injured during a charity match in Switzerland: the Juventus legend, who was playing against a team captained by Ronaldinho, was forced to leave the field during Friday night’s Zurich All-Star Game. The former Juventus forward was injured just a few minutes into the game: he suffered a right flexor injury while attempting a backheel pass to Claudio Marchisio, who was playing on his “Del Piero & Friends” team. Pinturicchio was forced to leave the field and exited the stadium on crutches.
The match was won 4-3 by a selection of Brazilian players led by Ronaldinho: the game was decided by a penalty kick from the former Milan star, who scored the final goal to make it 4-3.
Del Piero, 51, didn’t lose his smile after the injury and even joked about what had happened. The match featured great former players such as Pazzini, Amauri, Di Natale, Diego Costa, Quaresma, Zaccardo, Oddo, and Maicon. A total of 24,000 spectators watched the match. Ronaldinho will soon make his official return to the field: his debut with Ravenna in Serie C is scheduled for November 15.
The Romagna-based club has already set the date: the Brazilian’s official debut is scheduled for Sunday, November 15, at 5:30 p.m. at the Bruno Benelli Stadium, in the derby against Forlì. It is not yet clear how many minutes the former Barcelona and Milan star will be able to stay on the field. The club has announced that information on ticket sales will be communicated through official channels.
The Gaucho, who has just turned 46, is also a shareholder of Ravenna. His arrival was officially announced in late June in Miami, while his presentation to the fans took place on August 20 on the beach at Marina di Ravenna, in front of at least 6,000 people. His last professional match was in 2015, playing for Fluminense, before an 11-year retirement.
