Cantù basketball, Walter De Raffaele rejoices: found Chris Chiozza’s replacement

Problem solved. Acqua S.Bernardo Pallacanestro Cantù has found a way to resolve the issue related to Chris Chiozza’s injury. As known, the U.S. point guard suffered a first-degree injury to his left adductor. In order not to be without a key man in the booth in the final sprint of the regular season, the Brianza club moved quickly, finding an important element to add to its roster.
The choice fell on veteran Gerald Robinson, a player who knows the Italian league well. Born in 1989, during his long career he wore, as far as Italy is concerned, the undershirts of Virtus Roma, Pesaro, Dinamo Sassari and Scafati Basket. Since 2024, he played in the ranks of Rinascita Basket Rimini, in Serie A2. In order to answer Cantù’s call, he terminated his contract, as confirmed by the Romagna-based club itself.
“Dole Basket Rimini announces that it has reached an agreement with the athlete Gerald Robinson, who will terminate his existing contract early in view of the last part of the season. Rinascita Basket Rimini thanks Gerald for the two years spent with us, during which he distinguished himself for his commitment, seriousness and professionalism. Best wishes and best of luck to the athlete for a continuation of a career full of satisfaction,” the words of the Rinascita Basket Rimini press release.
Gerald Robinson has already passed his medical examinations and, in fact, will be a player at Walter De Raffaele’s disposal until the end of the current season. He will be a valuable asset in the guard department. His great experience will come in handy in this final season in which the Brianza club aims to do well. Whether he will already be on the court in Sunday’s challenge against Trieste remains to be seen.
