Milan market, eyes on a Bosnian national team talent

Acc Milan is following Kerim Alajbegovic very closely: already in the past few weeks the Rossoneri scouts have started monitoring the 2007-class trequartista who exploded at Salzburg, who has surpassed double figures in the ‘goals in season’ category, but the interest has turned into a full-fledged assault in recent days, with Rossoneri emissaries spotted in Cardiff on Thursday night to watch the playoff semifinal between Wales and Bosnia, where the youngster dragged his side to victory with an assist for Dzeko’s header and by converting the decisive penalty.
It should be considered, however, that Bayer Leverkusen is trying to ice the suitors by officially exercising its buy-back clause: the German club, which had sold him to the Austrians in the summer of 2025 for only 2.5 million euros, paid the 8 million stipulated in the contract to bring him back to the base, a strategic move that allowed the Aspirins to regain total control of the player’s tag, immediately locking him up with a new five-year deal valid until June 30, 2031.
Leverkusen’s move, however, has not dulled the enthusiasm of AC Milan, which is now studying a complex maneuver to snatch him from the Germans before summer training even begins. The Rossoneri management’s goal is to propose an offer close to 25-30 million euros plus bonuses, a figure that would guarantee Bayer an immediate revenue of about 20 million in a few months.
In the end, Alajbegovic’s future will be decided on the Milan-Leverkusen axis in the coming months, with the Bosnia-Italy playoff final serving as an additional international showcase. On the Bosnian, moreover, there are not only the eyes of the Rossoneri: Roma is also at the window, not forgetting the “usual” Premier League with Chelsea in pole position.
For Milan, the investment would represent the most expensive blow in the RedBird era for an Under-20, a testament to how much the club believes in the talents of the Cologne-born talent. It remains to be seen whether Leverkusen will decide to enjoy his talent or prefer to cash in right away.
