Celestino Vietti second: "It was a great weekend"

HDR SpeedRS Team

Celestino Vietti took a brilliant second place at the U.S. Grand Prix, leading the HDR SpeedRS team and the Boscoscuro bike to the podium at the end of an intense and action-packed race. A well-deserved result that allows the Italian rider to climb to fourth place in the overall standings.

The race was immediately interrupted by a red flag due to an incident in the rear. At the restart, with the same grid and distance reduced to 10 laps, Vietti lost ground in the early stages, slipping to fifth. However, driver number 13 reacted with determination, remounting lap after lap thanks to a steady pace. Back in the lead group, he engaged in a close duel with Agius for the win, staying in the fight until the end and taking second place under the checkered flag.

“It was a great weekend. This is not one of the tracks where I am fastest, so I am really very pleased with the work done by the team these days. Since the beginning of the season, the feeling with the bike has been excellent, so we were just waiting for some luck and to put everything together to get a good result. It was a good race, with a long battle with Izan and Senna. Next time I will try to manage the tires better to fight until the last lap. I like Jerez, so we will take a short break and arrive there more motivated than ever,” said the Piedmontese.

The HDR SpeedRS team leaves the U.S. with an important podium and now looks forward to the next round in Jerez de la Frontera, after a three-week break.
