Jannik Sinner gets closer: Carlos Alcaraz sends him a message

The marvelous Double Sunshine achieved without losing a set propelled him into orbit, redeeming the difficult start to 2026: Jannik Sinner received compliments and applause from all the tennis greats, and a good part of the insiders, for what he showed in Indian Wells and Miami.
The Blue also set other records, such as the consecutive number of sets won in Masters 1000s, which came to 34. The duopoly with Carlos Alcaraz was reaffirmed: in the last 19 tournaments in which both have participated, victory has always gone to one of the two great tennis players.
The Murcia-based tennis player himself wanted to congratulate his rival by sending him a message on Instagram: “Congratulations Jannik and team for winning the Sunshine Double,” wrote the Iberian champion, who posted a photo of Sinner and his coaches Vagnozzi and Cahill smiling in the locker room after the Miami triumph.
Alcaraz had already congratulated Sinner in person after the Indian Wells victory. The two could cross paths again in a few days in the Monte Carlo tournament, although the Blue has not yet confirmed his participation. With the start of the clay court season, Sinner is aiming for his first victory in a major tournament on this surface, and at the same time he hopes to narrow his gap from Alcaraz.
In addition to Carlos, Sinner’s other colleagues such as Aryna Sabalenka have also applauded the Azure by sending him messages on social media.
Lehecka extolled the Sinner-Alcaraz duopoly: “It’s not the first time something like this has happened in the tennis world… We’ve seen it before under different names, but I think it’s great, really. It’s very good for the sport and also for us. Ultimately, they show us our limitations, teach us what we need to improve in our game and basically what we need to enhance around us to be able to beat them.”
