Germany closes the end-of-March international window with its second micura win in two outings.

After the scintillating 4-3 success in Basel against Switzerland, the Mannschaft defeated Ghana, another team certain to participate in the 2026 World Cup, 2-1, resolving the contest at the MHPArena in Stuttgart only in the final minutes. For the Africans, however, having held their own against Germany is a boost of confidence after the heavy 1-5 loss they suffered Friday night in Austria.

Despite numerous chances already in the first half, Germany struggled to materialize and it was only a penalty kick scored by Havertz, in the midst of the first half recovery, that put the Nagelsmann-coached team ahead: punished, specifically, a hand foul by Jonas Adjetey, whom referee Attwell spared what would have been the second yellow card anyway.

In the second half, off to experiments, on both sides: precisely one of the substitutes, Issahaku Fatawu, scored the 1-1 goal in 70′, four minutes after entering in Prince Adu’s place, in one of the rare chances for the Ghanaian national team: the Leicester striker directed his left-footed shot with precision toward the opponent’s goal, mocking home goalkeeper Alexander Nubel.

Germany does not like to be pinned down at home and, although in the context of a friendly, does everything to take the lead again, succeeding in the 88th minute with home idol Deniz Undav: the Stuttgart talent arrives decisively on Sané’s bank and scores from a few steps for 2-1, a result that will not change again until the English referee’s triple whistle.

Between official and friendly matches, Monday night’s is the seventh success in a row for Germany, which is placed in Group E at the World Cup with Curaçao, Ivory Coast and Ecuador. Ghana, on the other hand, is on its fourth knockout in a row after the two friendlies lost to Japan and South Korea and the rout a few days ago in Vienna. The Black Stars are placed in Group L of the World Cup, along with England, Croatia and Panama.
