Duvan Zapata is injured again and Torino will have to fight to avoid relegation without the Colombian striker. Roberto D’Aversa’s team will face decisive matches against Pisa, Verona and Cremonese in the coming weeks, but will have to do so without Zapata, who has been forced back to the infirmary due to an injury.

“Torino Football Club announces that the player Duvan Zapata underwent instrumental tests that showed a partial distractive involvement of the rectus femoris of the right thigh. The prognosis will be defined according to the clinical evolution of the injury,” is the note from the Piedmontese club.

Zapata will be unavailable for two to three weeks, and will not be able to help the granata at a decisive moment of the season. Torino is currently 14th on 33 points, +6 from the relegation zone with 8 games left to play.

That Adams will play as a starter with Giovanni Simeone in attack, until the end of April.Zapata will miss matches against direct competitors in the race for salvation, Pisa, Verona and Cremonese, in the last, penultimate and fourth-last positions in the standings, respectively. The 35-year-old Colombian player had missed most of last season due to injury. He returned in October and failed to find continuity under the net as in the past, but in the last four games he scored two important goals against Lazio and Parma.
