Sassuolo rebuilds Cagliari and regains success

Sassuolo came back against Cagliari and regained success. After a difficult first half, the neroverdi re-entered the field with a completely different attitude and managed to turn the game around, recovering the disadvantage born from the penalty shot converted by Esposito. At 50′ came the equalizer signed by Garcia with a precise shot from the distance, while at 78′ it was Pinamonti who scored the decisive goal: served by Bakola, he turned well and overcame Caprile.
In the final Muric took a big risk, completely misjudging the exit and leaving the ball to Obert. However, the Slovakian, from a defiladed position, incredibly fails to find the goal. With this success, Sassuolo climbs to 42 points, momentarily hooking Bologna. First goal in Serie A for Ulisses Garcia and eighth goal of the season for Pinamonti. In the next round, the neroverdi will be engaged in an away match against Genoa.
For Fabio Grosso’s Sassuolo, this is a success that is worth double, considering the not brilliant moment that the team was going through: the neroverdi had not won for over a month, having broken the negative series only with the 1-1 draw obtained on the field of Juventus at the Allianz Stadium, where Pinamonti himself had sealed the equalizing goal in the second half. Three precious points, then, that allow Sassuolo to get concretely closer to mathematical salvation.
On the opposite front, the defeat further complicates the situation of Fabio Pisacane’s Cagliari. The Rossoblù have not won since January 31, when they won 4-0 over Hellas Verona, and the margin on the relegation zone is thinning dangerously. A difficult moment that had prompted the Sardinian club, in recent days, to open the doors of the sports center to the fans during a training session, in an attempt to regain confidence and compactness in view of this challenge.
Making Cagliari’s afternoon even more bitter is the standings situation: the calendar that awaits the Sardinians from now until the end of the season presents absolute level opponents such as Inter, Atalanta and Milan, in addition to the challenges against Cremonese, Bologna, Udinese and Torino. A far from easy path for a team that will have to find again continuity of results as soon as possible.
It is worth noting the story of the scorer of the black and green draw: Ulisses Garcia, a Swiss full-back arrived from Marseille, thus finds his first goal in Serie A. An important goal for a player who in France, last season with Olympique Marseille, had already shown his offensive qualities before landing in Italy.
