Antonio Conte, at the end of the challenge won with AC Milan, has “self-candidate” for the bench of the National Team. In fact, the Napoli coach (he still has one year left on his contract with the Neapolitan club) has opened up the possibility of returning to lead the Azzurri, after the good experience gained from 2014 to 2016.

“If I were the president of the Federation I would consider myself, along with others: for many reasons Conte I would put him. I have already been there in the national team and I know the environment. It flatters me because it is something beautiful to represent one’s country. You know very well that I have another year of my contract and that at the end of the year I will meet with the president,” Antonio Conte’s own words in a press conference.

Napoli patron Aurelio De Laurentiis’ response was not long in coming: “Conte the new national team coach? If Antonio asked me, I think I would say yes, but since he is very intelligent, as long as there is no serious interlocutor, and so far there hasn’t been any, I think he would desist in imagining himself at the head of something completely disorganized,” the clear words of Napoli’s number one to calcionapoli24.it.

In short, the good will to let him go would not be lacking, provided that a new Figc president is chosen who lives up to expectations. It is no secret that Aurelio De Laurentiis’ favorite is Giovanni Malagò, a man highly respected by the number one of the Neapolitan club.
