Carsen Edwards at Virtus until 2027: negotiations advanced

Virtus Bologna is reportedly moving decisively to confirm Carsen Edwards for next year as well. The American, who landed last summer from Bayern Munich on a one-year contract worth about 1.5 million euros, ended the season in the Euroleague with 17.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game average, among the best top scorers in the Old Continent.
Virtus finished only 17th in the Euroleague regular season, but the Bianconeri club considers the player’s renewal a top priority for its future. According to reports in the Greek newspaper Athletiko, initial contacts for the renewal are already underway and are proceeding positively.
There is a willingness on both sides to continue the relationship through the 2026-27 season as well, with the goal of retaining one of the most talented elements in the attack in Bologna, despite rumors of interest from Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Eliminated from the European playoffs, the Vu Nere are focused on the Italian championship, but they are already working simultaneously on the construction of the future roster, starting precisely with the players who have most given technical certainty to the team this season.
