MotoGP, so much fear in the Ducati box: Pecco Bagnaia was in shock

The episode of Inside Ducati dedicated to the Catalonia Grand Prix recounts a very difficult weekend for the Ducati team. In the box, the atmosphere is tense from the start, especially with the absence of Marc Marquez, who is still out of action due to injury. Everyone thinks of him and stickers with the words ‘Forza Marc’ appear on the bikes. But the real scare comes on Sunday, when the accidents of Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco shock the paddock and leave even Pecco Bagnaia affected.
During the race, Alex Marquez’s violent crash leaves everyone speechless. In the Ducati box, mechanics and technicians put their hands in their hair as they follow the images on the monitors. Luigi Dall’Igna immediately goes to the Gresini Racing box to understand the Spanish rider’s condition. Soon after comes the first reassuring news: “Alex is conscious.” Later it is explained that the rider feels pain in his shoulder and chest, but is able to move his legs and arms. News that only partially reassures the team.
In fact, a few minutes later comes another dramatic moment. At the second start, Bagnaia was involved in a crash with Zarco and the two bikes became hooked. “He took a big hit,” comments Cristian Gabarrini. Pecco returns to the box in pain, puts ice on his wrist and confesses, “I can’t move anything.” Despite everything he decides to continue the race.
After the race, though, it is mainly the emotional aspect that strikes. Pecco Bagnaia admits that he was very shaken: “We got lucky, it was intense.” Then he recounts the moment that marked him most in the crash with Zarco: “I saw his leg on my bike, it was hard.” Despite the final podium, in the Ducati box remain mostly fear and tension after one of the most difficult days of the season.
