Serie A 2025-2026: Lazio-Pisa, the likely lineups

Lazio and Pisa close their Serie A championship with the challenge at the Olimpico in Rome scheduled for Saturday at 8:45 p.m. A match, the one between the biancocelesti and nerazzurri, that has very little to say at the level of objectives: Maurizio Sarri’s team aims to avoid a knockout that would jeopardize a Top 10 finish, while Oscar Hiljemark’s team wants to say goodbye to the top flight by at least trying to break 20 in the standings, as avoiding last place would require a big win and an equally heavy defeat by Verona to Roma.
The biancocelesti’s season will go into the archives with more lows than highs: in the league the summer blockade to the market weighed heavily, which forced Maurizio Sarri to make a virtue of necessity very often, in the Coppa Italia the path was exciting but only until the final act, in which Inter swept away their opponents with a clear 2-0. As if that were not enough, the biancocelesti are coming off a derby lost badly by 2-0 and have not won the stracittadina since January 10, 2024.
As for Pisa, their first season in A after thirty-four years has been decidedly disappointing: just two victories, both at home (1-0 against Cremonese on November 7, 3-1 against Cagliari on March 15), a few good performances here and there (such as the 2-2 draw at the San Siro against Milan) but very little else. Even the change on the bench, with Gilardino leaving in the winter to Hiljemark, had no effect: relegation seemed inevitable for weeks now and came at the beginning of May, after the home loss to Lecce.
Probable formations
LAZIO (4-3-3): Furlanetto, Marusic, Provstgaard, Romagnoli, Pellegrini, Basic, Patric, Dele-Bashiru, Cancellieri, Noslin, Pedro. All. Sarri.
PISA (3-5-2): Semper, Calabresi, Canestrelli, Bozhinov, Leris, Loyola, Aebischer, Vural, Angori, Moreo, Stojilkovic. All. Hiljemark.
