Juventus is out of the Champions League and after the Turin derby, tempers are very heated in the Bianconeri’s house. In particular, a bitter Luciano Spalletti lashed out on live TV at the microphones of Sportmediaset after a misunderstanding with Pressing host Monica Bertini right at the beginning of the interview following the 1-1 draw against the granata.

“I have a curiosity, but you, Luciano Spalletti, how are you?” was the journalist’s question at the beginning of the link-up. Spalletti immediately blurted out, “How am I? I heard this theory: ‘He’s burned because this happened to him in the national team…’. Do you want to refer to that? Do I sympathize with you?”

Bertini tried to clarify but Spalletti continued to lash out, “Doctor, that’s how it works, that it’s left for me of what my reaction is. And if you want, if there is someone in difficulty, I will put it at your disposal.” The journalist then clarified herself, “I did not want to allude to anything else, I imagine the disappointment you are feeling.”

The Tuscan coach thanked but then went on to give vent to his bitterness: “You take an episode, ‘you are out of the Champions League, failed.’ Everyone ‘failure, resignation, failure’. They make me laugh now. I only miss one category that I have not been in the locker room of soccer, the First Category. Then I have been in all the locker rooms of all the categories, either as a coach or as a player, of all the categories of soccer. So you have it tough. See you next year.”

Juventus, which finished fifth in the league, will play in the Europa League next season. Spalletti gave clear indications for the summer buying campaign: “We have an obligation to create assumptions with anyone with our heads held high, so that we always play to win. A level team must be made to fill the limits we have seen in these seven months, although I think the team has worked well. In my opinion, people’s character always makes the difference. Every now and then personalities get together, but it is character that makes the difference.”
