Lazio market, Sarri’s farewell announcement opens doors wide for Gattuso

Lazio has made official the separation from Maurizio Sarri, a decision expected and already in the air for weeks, now also officially confirmed by the club. The consensual termination of the contract was announced by the biancoceleste club, thus sanctioning the end of the relationship with the coach and his staff.

Sarri leaves Lazio after two separate experiences over the past four years. The first, which began in 2021, lasted for two seasons until March 2024, while the second, shorter and more complicated interlude covered the just-completed last season. A new challenge is already ready for the coach on the bench of Atalanta.

On the Lazio front, on the other hand, there is a move toward a change of technical leadership with Gennaro Gattuso indicated as the successor. The former technical commissioner is close to an agreement in principle for a two-year contract until 2028.

In the official statement, the club announced the resolution filed with the Lega di Serie A, thanking Sarri and his staff for their work and wishing them the best for the professional future.

There was also a message on social media, where Lazio said goodbye to the coach with a “Thank you for everything, commander,” accompanied by a video dedicated to the most significant moments of his experience in biancoceleste.
