Torino market, the whole granata attack may change in the summer

Torino soccer market: after another dull season, the Granata attack could undergo a full-scale revolution. The entire advanced department, currently centered on Che Adams, Giovanni Simeone and captain Duvan Zapata, is in fact at the center of very deep reflections. And it cannot be ruled out that when the championship resumes, the new coach (himself still to be defined) will not have any of the three available.

The most certain to keep his place is at the moment Zapata, who, however, has never fully overcome the very heavy knee injury of October 2024. It is no coincidence that in the last season he scored 3 goals in Serie A, the same as in the previous season: however, at that time it took him 7 games, compared to 23 in 2025-2026. Adams’ profile is also to be reviewed, but he will in any case be confirmed or put on the market only after the World Cup. Simeone, fresh off 11 goals in the season, could instead return to his homeland (perhaps to River Plate) or join his father and brothers in Spain by linking up with Sevilla.

With this in mind, sporting director Gianluca Petrachi is already working to identify the right profiles with which to redesign the offensive department. One of the names monitored with greatest interest is that of Hugo Cuypers, a Belgian bomber born in 1997 currently playing for the Chicago Fire in MLS, where he has scored 8 goals in only 6 games despite some physical problems suffered during the season. Making the track concretely feasible is his contractual situation: Cuypers is linked to the Fire by an agreement expiring in December, with a one-year extension clause that can be activated by the American club, which would intend to exercise it in order to then sell the player in the summer, monetizing as much as possible from his transfer.

The Granata market maneuvers are not limited, however, to the advanced department alone. Torino has also set its sights on Umut Tohumcu, a midfielder of Hoffenheim and the German Under-21 national team, considered one of the most interesting talents of the last Bundesliga for tactical intelligence and dynamism. The club’s scouts have already taken a concrete step, traveling to Germany to view him live: the player’s price tag is valued by Hoffenheim at around 5 million euros, but competition from other European clubs requires Toro to move decisively and quickly.
