Alessio Romagnoli’s agent causes an uproar; fans are furious

In recent days, there has been persistent talk of a possible transfer of Alessio Romagnoli to Al-Sadd: the Qatari club tried to sign the defender last summer but was unsuccessful. Now things are different; the player has reached an agreement with the Qatari owners, but a deal between Al-Sadd and Lazio has yet to be finalized.
Speaking to chiamarsibomber, Vincenzo Raiola, the agent of the former Milan defender, provided an update on the situation: “Negotiations have slowed down in light of the former emir’s death, following which a national mourning period was declared throughout the country. Added to this is the issue of the war, which led to the decision by the ministry responsible for sports to allocate resources primarily to defense.”
“Al-Sadd wants Romagnoli and the deal remains on the table, but as of now, they cannot sign any transfer agreement until the budget situation is resolved. We’re waiting for news from the Qatari ministry, but we don’t see a future for him at Lazio.”
Raiola’s final remark sparked the anger of many Lazio fans, who vented their frustration on social media: “He could have spared us that—with just a few words, he trampled on our club’s history,” said Flavio, echoed by Romeo: “Romagnoli is right to flee from Lotito, but the agent should never have said such things. If the deal falls through, we’ll be forced to sell him off to others after these statements.”
