LeBron James has signed with the Philadelphia 76ers: “I want the ring.”

LeBron James is leaving the Los Angeles Lakers and officially joining the Philadelphia 76ers, where he will play his 24th NBA season. The American star, considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time, has no plans to retire yet and aims to win one last championship ring in his career. According to ESPN, he has signed a two-year contract with the 76ers.

Philadelphia is the fourth team in James’s career, following the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers: he has won four championships and is now chasing his fifth title at the age of 41. “I thought my career was over when the season ended. I wasn’t ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really decide, but I was pretty sure I’d played my last game. I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look inside myself and decide if I still loved this game. I still truly love this game, and I still have a lot to give,” he wrote on social media.

“The last few weeks have been truly special. I’ve never been in a situation where I had no idea what to do and took time to think. I’ve had some incredible months with all the people I love, trying to figure out what to do. This is my final decision. I’m not doing this for the money. I’m not doing this for my family.”

With his arrival, Philadelphia becomes a championship-caliber team: the starting lineup also includes Tyrese Maxey, CJ Edgecombe, Jaylen Brown, and Joel Embiid—a powerhouse. “What am I really playing for at this point?
