Trieste and Taccetti Move Forward Together: “Ready for New Challenges”

Pallacanestro Trieste has released a statement announcing the renewal of Francesco Taccetti’s contract as head coach of the Biancorossi: “With great affection and complete confidence, Pallacanestro Trieste is pleased to announce that he will continue to lead the first team for the upcoming season as well.”

“More than just a contractual agreement, this renewal is intended to be a strong signal of continuity. After guiding the team with tactical clarity, a firm hand, and a lot of heart all the way to the final buzzer of the playoffs, the red-and-white management has chosen to pick up right where they left off. Our confidence in Taccetti and his approach to the job has never been in question; on the contrary, it has been strengthened by witnessing his ability to build team cohesion on the PalaTrieste court day after day. With the determination that has set him apart since his first day in Trieste, “Taccio” has circled a date on the calendar in red—the team’s training camp on August 17—and is ready to get back to work.”

Here are the coach’s words: “My first thoughts go to the new ownership, particularly President Josh Hiller and all the members of the Board, as well as our GM Michael Arcieri: I thank them from the bottom of my heart for the trust they have chosen to place in me once again. Representing the colors of Trieste is a rare privilege, because we’re talking about a club and a city that live and breathe basketball. The excitement I felt when I arrived here two years ago remains unchanged, but today it’s joined by an even stronger motivation: we want to approach the new season with a very specific mindset. Fighting, competing, and showcasing a clear identity on the court must be our daily mantra. All of this will be easier thanks to the solid core we’re fortunate enough to build upon.”
