2026-2027 Serie A, the complete regular-season schedule
On Monday, August 3, the Italian Basketball Federation announced the schedule for the 30 rounds of the Serie A regular season. The season kicks off on the weekend of September 27, one week after the 2026 Super Cup, which will be held on September 19 and 20 at the Nova Arena in Tortona. The first half of the season, which will determine the eight teams advancing to the Coppa Italia Final Eight in Turin, will end on Sunday, January 10, 2027. The entire regular season will conclude on Sunday, May 9, 2027. It’s worth noting that, as in soccer, the match schedule is asymmetrical: the second half of the season therefore follows a different sequence of games than the first half.
The season kicks off with some intriguing matchups as early as the first day of the season on September 27, when Olimpia Milano will host Trieste, Virtus Bologna will play on the road against Varese, and Cantù will visit Reyer Venezia. There is also great anticipation for the debuts of the two teams from the capital: Maxima will make its home debut against Napoli, while BC Roma SPQR will travel to Treviso. The first city derby, meanwhile, will take place on Matchday 3 (October 11, 2026) and Matchday 17 (January 24, 2027).
The first league rematch of the most recent championship finals between Olimpia Milano and Reyer Venezia is scheduled for the 12th matchday on December 20 at the Taliercio. The rematch at the Unipol Forum will take place on February 7, 2027 (Round 19). The league matchup between the two EuroLeague contenders, Olimpia Milano and Virtus Bologna, will take place on the weekend of October 25, 2026 (Round 5) at the Forum in Assago and on January 24, 2027 (Round 17) in Casalecchio di Reno. Two Christmas matchdays are also scheduled (Sunday, December 20, and Sunday, December 27), along with several regional derbies. The most anticipated matches include Cantù vs. Varese (December 6, 2026, and February 7, 2027), Napoli vs. Scafati (November 8, 2026, and February 14, 2027), Treviso vs. Venezia (October 25, 2026, and January 24, 2027), and Udine vs. Trieste (December 6, 2026, and January 31, 2027).
