Fiorentina Transfer Market: A Tug-of-War with Torino Over the Versatile Winger

Torino continues to closely monitor Niccolò Fortini, one of Fiorentina’s most promising young players. Born in 2006, he’s highly regarded for his great versatility, as he’s capable of playing on both flanks. Although he is primarily deployed on the left flank, his natural foot is his right, a trait that allows him to adapt without much difficulty to the opposite flank as well.

Torino has been tracking the Camaiore native for several weeks now and considers him an ideal fit to strengthen their flanks. However, negotiations have been slowed by the gap between Fiorentina’s financial demands and Torino’s offer.

Fiorentina values Fortini at no less than 10 million euros and would like to include a percentage of any future resale in the deal. Torino, on the other hand, considers this figure excessive and, at the moment, is not willing to go beyond 5 million. The gap between the asking price and the offer therefore remains significant, although talks between the parties could continue in the coming weeks in an attempt to find common ground.

This is not a recent development: the courtship between Torino and Fortini has been going on for some time now. As early as last summer, Torino had made an offer of around 6 million euros for the young fullback, but Fiorentina deemed it insufficient, standing firm on a demand of close to 10 million. History is repeating itself, then, with the two clubs still far apart on their respective valuations.

It should be noted, however, that Torino is not the only club to have set its sights on Fortini. Last January, Gasperini’s Roma had also evaluated the young Fiorentina fullback as a potential reinforcement for the left flank, only to back off in the face of Fiorentina’s demand, which at that time had raised the bar even further to 20 million euros. This figure confirms that the player’s valuation has remained high over time, and that the Tuscan club has no intention of selling off one of its most promising talents at a discount.
