Roma Transfer News: Another Twist on the Right Wing

Roma continues to work on securing a new right winger for Gian Piero Gasperini, but negotiations with Feyenoord for Givairo Read remain difficult. The Dutch club has in fact rejected Roma’s latest offer of 29.5 million euros in total, a figure that included 25 million in a fixed fee and 4.5 million in bonuses.

Feyenoord’s stance is clear: to let the fullback go, they want 30 million euros guaranteed, with no bonuses tied to performance targets. This financial gap is, at least for now, preventing the two clubs from reaching an agreement. Roma’s management, led by Tony D’Amico, does not seem willing to increase the offer any further.

For this reason, the possibility of signing Nahuel Molina has once again come to the forefront at Trigoria. Following initial contacts in recent weeks, Roma has decided to submit an official offer to Atlético Madrid for the Argentine national team player, identified as a viable alternative should the Read deal fail to materialize.

Even in this case, however, the path is not without obstacles. The Colchoneros have opened the door to a potential transfer but have deemed Roma’s proposal insufficient. The asking price for the former Udinese player remains around 20 million euros.

Nor is Roma’s proposed deal particularly convincing. Atlético would prefer a permanent transfer rather than a loan with an option or obligation to buy deferred until next summer. In fact, the Spanish club still considers Molina a reliable member of the squad and would be willing to part ways with him only if an offer is deemed adequate both financially and in terms of the deal’s terms.

The next few hours will be decisive in determining the direction of Roma’s transfer market strategy. If the gap with Feyenoord remains unchanged, Molina’s candidacy could gain further ground and become the top priority for strengthening the right flank.
