Preseason friendlies: Fiorentina vs. Deportivo La Coruña, probable lineups

Fiorentina faces Deportivo La Coruña at 8 p.m. at Viola Park. The Argentine, born in 2007, who joined Real Madrid last summer from River Plate for 45 million euros, arrives at Fiorentina on a straight loan after a difficult season in Spain: the young attacking midfielder had lost his central role in the Blancos’ plans following Xabi Alonso’s departure. A direct phone call from Grosso is said to have been a key factor in convincing him to choose Florence over the other available options, as Grosso acted decisively to beat out competition from Milan and Roma.
