The schedule works in Marco Bezzecchi’s favor

Marco Bezzecchi won’t have to wait long for a chance to put the disappointment of Misano behind him. Just a few days after his crash in the main race, the Aprilia rider is back in the saddle for the Austrian Grand Prix with a clear goal: to bounce back immediately and turn the bitterness of the last race into motivation.

After all, the outcome at Misano cannot be reduced to the mistake made on the first lap of Sunday’s race. The weekend had shown a highly competitive Bezzecchi, capable of securing pole position with a track record and finishing on the podium in the Sprint, achieving his best result of the season in the short race.

It is precisely these positive signs that the Italian rider wants to carry with him to Styria. Speed and competitiveness were certainly there, but Sunday’s crash cut short the chance to turn the potential shown over the weekend into a significant result in the main race as well.

“After a mistake, it’s crucial to get back on the bike as soon as possible,” Bezzecchi emphasized. And this time, the schedule immediately offers him that opportunity. The Austrian GP comes right on the heels of the previous race, with no week-long break, allowing the Aprilia rider to focus immediately on a new goal.

The 4.35-kilometer Styrian circuit, featuring 10 turns, offers very different characteristics compared to Misano. Starting in 2022, the MotoGP layout also includes the chicane introduced at Turn 2 to enhance safety.

For Bezzecchi, the key will be to build on his strengths. The pole position, the track record, and the podium finish in the Misano Sprint have confirmed the level achieved by the Aprilia rider and his bike. Now he needs to finish the job on Sunday as well.
