Juventus Transfer Market: An Old Juventus Friend Is in the Running to Replace Grabara

An injury—yet another this season—that has put Carnevali in a bind. Grabara had made an excellent impression in his debut for the Bianconeri against NEC. Unfortunately, bad luck has sidelined him: a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee will keep him out for about six months.

Losing Grabara is a major blow for Spalletti, who now has only Vicario at his disposal. However, it cannot be ruled out that the club will decide to make a move in the transfer market, looking among the free-agent goalkeepers still available. In truth, there isn’t much to choose from, partly because it’s a very delicate and sought-after position.

One possibility, however, does exist, and it points to Neto. Now 37 years old and a free agent, the Brazilian goalkeeper knows Juventus well, having spent two seasons there from 2015 to 2017 (22 total appearances). In short, Neto is a safe bet.

Alternatively, Spalletti might also decide to go with a young goalkeeper already in the Juventus system. That player is Radu, the number one goalkeeper for the Next Gen team. A Romanian national born in Turin, he was born in 2007. What is certain is that Carnevali, one way or another, will have to lend Spalletti a hand.
