Fiorentina: Giuseppe Commisso and his mother Catherine are leaving Italy but will return soon

The Commisso family has left Florence to return to the United States. President Giuseppe Commisso and his mother Catherine, vice president of the Viola club, have departed for New Jersey after spending a particularly intense and emotional month in the Tuscan capital. Before leaving, the owners wanted to say goodbye to Florence and the fans via Fiorentina’s social media channels, thanking them for the affection they received and promising to see them again soon. “Thank you, Florence. It was wonderful and exciting. See you soon—we love you all,” read the president’s message.

At this time, no date has been set for the Commisso family’s return to Florence; it could happen around Christmas.

Giuseppe and Catherine’s stay in Florence coincided with one of the most significant moments in the club’s history: the celebrations for Fiorentina’s centennial. In this context, Giuseppe Commisso received the prestigious Nereo Rocco Award, delivering a speech filled with emotion and ambition: “I am deeply honored to accept this award on behalf of everyone who is part of Fiorentina. This is a very important moment for us—our centennial year. And this award, in my opinion, belongs to everyone who has helped write our history.”
