The influencer-fan’s new pathetic strategy: letting people insult them and then asking for money

But how many fan-influencers are there these days who are constantly flooding social media? A whole lot. Some produce top-quality content, others decent content. The majority, however, do not. Many are pointing out a new trend—let’s call it that—that has taken hold recently. The strategy—which, to be honest, is as pathetic as it is petty—is always the same: to provoke opposing fans with vague insinuations, insults (though never directed at specific individuals), taunts, and so on.
The goal is clear: to provoke the naive (and often very rude) reader into reacting with words that go beyond what is permissible (and legal), and then cash in, having them contacted by lawyers ready to defend their clients’ interests and—it’s their job, after all—reach a settlement (read: compensation) to avoid ending up in court. A tactic that apparently is in use in other fields and has also taken… hold in sports.
The names of these influencers who frequently use this tactic are already circulating, and it seems they’ve already started making money this way: among them are reportedly an elderly Inter Milan fan, a young, expressionless, and grammatically challenged fan of the “Beneamata,” an attractive Juventus supporter, and a Napoli fan. But there are many more. These are traps set that you really shouldn’t fall into…
