Images of Bruno Vespa during his interview with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Tuesday’s episode of “Cinque Minuti” have gone viral. The 82-year-old RAI host appeared with his arm in a sling and a swollen eye.
“Prime Minister Meloni, I apologize to you and to the audience because I’m not in perfect condition. Fortunately, they operated on me at Gemelli Hospital and got me back on my feet,” said the journalist, who explained that he had been the victim of a “devastating fall.”
“We could have postponed it; I didn’t want to force you. I wish you a speedy recovery,” Giorgia Meloni replied. The broadcast went ahead as scheduled.
The footage of Vespa went viral online.
