Welcome back! The 2026-27 Men’s Basketball Serie A kicks off today, Saturday, September 26, with the first three games of opening day. Treviso faces BC Roma, Venice takes on Cantù, and Reggio Emilia plays Trento, while the rest of the schedule will be completed on Sunday. All of today’s games will be broadcast on LBA TV.
The championship will officially kick off at 7:30 p.m. with the matchup between Nutribullet Treviso Basket and BC Roma. There’s a lot of anticipation, especially for the Rome-based team, which is playing its first-ever Serie A game. The squad, coached by Alessandro Magro, enters its debut with Nico Mannion as one of the key figures in Rome’s new project. For Treviso, on the other hand, this is an immediate opportunity to kick off the season in front of their home crowd and try to steer the season in a very different direction from the previous one, which ended with a near-miraculous escape from relegation after a dreadful first half of the season.
At 8:00 p.m., Umana Reyer Venezia will face Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù. The team from Venice heads into the match on the heels of a promising performance in the Super Cup, a tournament in which they reached the final before falling to Olimpia Milano in overtime. Neven Spahija’s team will therefore look to get off on the right foot in front of the home crowd at the Taliercio. On the other side will be Frank Vitucci’s Cantù, facing a particularly challenging test right off the bat following a worrisome preseason marked solely by losses.
Rounding out Saturday’s schedule at 8:30 p.m. will be UNA Hotels Reggio Emilia vs. Dolomiti Energia Trentino at the PalaBigi. Reggio has retained much of last season’s core and will continue with Dimitris Priftis at the helm. Trento, on the other hand, boasts the youngest roster in the league, with an average age of 24.8 years, and is coming off a strong preseason, finishing with six wins in seven games. For L’Aquila, this will be its thirteenth season in the top division.
