Stephen Curry Signs a Massive Contract Extension but Passes on $20 Million

Stephen Curry isn’t switching teams and is preparing to end his career with the Golden State Warriors, the franchise that selected him in the 2009 draft. The No. 30 player has signed a two-year contract extension worth a total of $116 million—a massive sum, though still $20 million less than the salary cap set for NBA superstars.
This decision allows the Warriors to maintain greater flexibility in the free-agent market and gives them more room to make moves on the roster, including signing players to lucrative contracts.
Curry, for his part, is poised to reach another historic milestone: he will be the first player in NBA history to earn more than $600 million in his career solely from on-court salaries.
