Milan Transfer Market: Eyes on Juventus’ Former Target—He’s on Sale

It hasn’t even been a month since the summer transfer window closed, but many teams are already planning their next moves. Milan, for example, is looking for a center back to bolster its defense and give Ruben Amorim the flexibility to rotate players without sacrificing too much quality.

In the final days of the summer transfer window, the Rossoneri tried to convince Sporting to sell Gonçalo Inácio, but the Portuguese club stood firm, holding onto its star player—who, however, didn’t take it very well: it seems the 2001-born player wants a change of scenery, and the Rossoneri are still keeping an eye on the situation.

However, an alternative is gaining traction: Kim Min-jae, a South Korean center back who has already played in Italy for Napoli. The player has a contract with Bayern Munich through 2028, and so far there have been no signs of a renewal: if nothing changes, the Bavarians will put him on the market this summer to avoid losing him for free.

It’s almost impossible that Bayern would agree to part with the player during the winter transfer window: even though he doesn’t play regularly, Kim Min-jae is still a valuable backup, and Vincent Kompany would prefer to finish the season with the South Korean on the roster.

Last summer, Kim Min-jae was long linked to Juventus: the player had already worked with Luciano Spalletti during his time at Napoli (and the results were excellent), and the Bianconeri were looking for a center back but ultimately decided to make a move for Jhon Lucumí, snatched from Bologna for about 20 million euros.
