Bologna Transfer Market: The Rossoblù Set to Sign Former Torino Player

Bologna, in search of a defender, is very close to signing former Torino and Inter player Matteo Darmian, who is currently a free agent following the end of his time with the Nerazzurri.

As reported by Sky, the Rossoblù—who are looking for defensive options following Emil Holm’s injury—will welcome the former Torino player to their Casteldebole training facility, where he will train with the team over the coming weeks. Bologna will then decide whether to sign him for the remainder of the season if the player convinces Raffaele Palladino’s coaching staff to give him a chance.

A product of the Milan youth system, Darmian has played for Padova, Palermo, Torino, Manchester United, Parma, and Inter during his career, winning three Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia trophies with Inter. Last summer, he was also linked to Torino as a potential signing.

Among free agents, Darmian isn’t the only former Inter player attracting interest on the Italian transfer market. Francesco Acerbi, who was released by Inter along with Stefan de Vrij at the end of last season as part of the defensive overhaul planned by the management team of Marotta and Ausilio, has also attracted interest from several clubs, including Bologna and Sassuolo.
