Federica Brignone, no snow: rehabilitation continues on the sand

Just a few more weeks before getting back on her skis, with Sölden now off the schedule and her sights already set on the North American tour. Federica Brignone is making good progress in her recovery following surgery on her left leg, and—35 days after her last surgery—she continues to work on regaining her form.
The Italian champion is currently in Olbia, where she is training alongside Luca Scarian, the women’s national team’s strength and conditioning coach for the elite group. Having just returned from Ushuaia, Scarian is well acquainted with the journey Brignone has undertaken over the past year and a half—from rehabilitation at J Medical through the reintegration phase to summer training in the Aosta Valley.
Dr. Riccardo Meloni, director of the Quota33 Sport & Wellness center, is also present during certain parts of the day, as the skier performs specific exercises there. Part of the training then moves to the beach, taking advantage of Sardinia and the sand as the ideal environment to continue physical work during this phase of her recovery.
And it was precisely from the beach that Brignone shared a story on social media, showing some of the exercises she was doing in the sand. The image captures a moment in the life of the Italian champion: still far from the slopes, but fully focused on the work needed to get back on her skis.
The goal remains to be in top condition when she hits the snow. The North American tour is indeed on the champion’s mind, considering that it would provide the necessary time to get back into the swing of things, combining both the quantity and quality of training—provided, of course, that her feelings on the snow are as hoped.
