Gian Luca Rossi, a special trip in honor of his mother: “I had promised her I would”

In late August, well-known journalist Gian Luca Rossi announced the death of his mother. Now, a little over a month after the tragic event, the Inter fan has decided to embark on a special trip in her honor and shared the news on Instagram: “Anyone who knows me well knows that besides Inter, I have another huge passion: the United States, where I started traveling when I was very young.”

“A visit here, a visit there—I realized that by 2022, I had visited 45 states. Then my mom fell ill, so I stopped in 2022, and I have five states left to go. I had made this promise to my mom—who was very happy about these mini-trips—that I would complete them as soon as possible.”

“Now my mom is no longer with us, and here I am, ready to complete the states. Within a week, backpack in tow, I’ll finish them off and reach 50. I’ll keep you updated step by step on the stops along the way. The first, a stopover, is Boston, and then I’ll head to Kansas City. That way, I’ll cover Kansas and Missouri together. Then tonight I’m driving to Iowa, the third state; I’ll tell you about the other two as I go along. See you in America—bye, guys,” Gian Luca told his followers.

The journalist also posted a video on his YouTube channel where he explained: “This will be the last video I shoot in Milan; then I’ll leave for the United States, and we’ll stay in touch from there. I’m setting out on a journey I’d call a ‘completion’ trip to all 50 U.S. states. I haven’t been there since 2022, when my mom was sick, and she really cared about it—especially because whenever I visited a state, I’d bring her the classic souvenir magnet. She always told me, ‘Make sure you finish your tour,’ so now I’m leaving.”
