Vittorio Sgarbi has been admitted to the Policlinico Gemelli in Rome. The news was confirmed by the hospital. According to reports, the former member of parliament, art critic, and former undersecretary of culture is in intensive care and his condition is said to be serious. However, no further information regarding his medical condition has been released by the Gemelli at this time.

In recent years, Sgarbi has faced several health issues. Ten years ago, he was hospitalized in Modena due to heart problems.

Another significant hospitalization occurred in the spring of 2025, when Sgarbi was treated at the Gemelli for severe depression. During that period, he went through a phase of severe isolation, accompanied by significant weight loss and a refusal to eat. His hospital stay lasted more than a month.

Last February, the art critic reappeared in public at the Certosa di Ferrara. On that occasion, he appeared physically debilitated, with an unsteady gait and a gaunt face, accompanied by his partner Sabrina Colle.
