On Saturday at 2:00 p.m., Cagliari will face Rayo Vallecano at the Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas stadium in the match that will determine the winner of the Trofeo de Vallecas. The tournament, which hasn’t been held for seven years, will pit Fabio Pisacane’s team against Beñat San José’s squad, which currently sits in 12th place in the Spanish league.

To boost support for the match against the Sardinians, Rayo Vallecano has decided that season ticket holders for La Liga matches will be granted free admission to the stadium. This move is intended to reward season-ticket holders and put more pressure on Elia Caprile and his teammates.

The match between Rayo Vallecano and Cagliari was announced just a few days ago. Here is the statement from the Sardinian club: “An international friendly for Coach Pisacane’s Rossoblù: during the league break, Cagliari will fly to Madrid, Spain, to play in the tenth edition of the ‘Trofeo de Vallecas’ against Rayo Vallecano.”

“The match is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, at 2:00 p.m., at the ‘Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas’ stadium, where tickets for the game will be available for purchase—at the main ticket office—starting this afternoon. Sales will continue on Thursday and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until kickoff. Online purchases will not be available.”

“Rayo Vallecano, founded in 1924 and based in the Vallecas neighborhood in southeastern Madrid, is one of Spanish soccer’s historic clubs, with a strong sense of identity. The team competes in La Liga and is currently coached by Basque manager Beñat San José. Last season, it reached the UEFA Conference League final. In its history, it has reached the Copa del Rey semifinals twice.”

Rayo Vallecano has posted its ticket price list on its website, ranging from a minimum of 10 euros to a maximum of 70 euros. As mentioned above, La Liga season ticket holders will be able to enter the stadium for free to cheer on Los Franjirrojos.
