Fresh off a loss in its league opener on the road against Reyer Venezia (final score 85-73), Cantù will try to secure its first two points of the season at PalaDesio, in front of its home crowd, against Udine, which, on the other hand, kicked off the season with a brilliant 87-63 victory over newly promoted Scafati. With two days to go before the game, scheduled for Monday at 8 p.m., the Biancoblù’s head coach Frank Vitucci took stock of the situation and sent a message to his players.

“We finally have the chance to play in front of our home crowd, and we know how important this game can be for our season,” he said. “In fact, we want to set a clear direction for our season right away, and getting off to a good start at home will be crucial,” he added.

“After the game in Venice, we’ve worked hard to improve our offensive system, but we know we also need to grow on defense and become more solid,” added the coach, born in 1963. “We’ve focused heavily on all of this this week. Now it’s up to us. We’re eager to win and to show on the court a concrete result from all the work and commitment we’re putting in every day.”

For Frank Vitucci, the Cantù adventure marks his personal return to the top flight, following a season in A2 with Scafati that ended with promotion secured thanks to a first-place finish at the end of the regular season. The Venetian coach had spent the previous two seasons on the Treviso bench, leading NutriBullet to avoid relegation in both 2024 and 2025.
