Jannik Sinner is set to miss another tournament. The Italian, who has been sidelined since the Wimbledon final, has so far had to withdraw from the tournaments in Montreal, Cincinnati, the U.S. Open, Beijing, and Shanghai due to knee problems. According to the latest reports, the world No. 1 is expected to announce shortly that he will also miss the Six Kings Slam, the high-stakes tournament in Riyadh, scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia.

According to reports from Punto de Break, the champion from Sesto has informed the Saudi organizers that his participation in the event is highly unlikely, giving them advance notice and advising them to consider a Plan B to replace him. The official confirmation has not yet arrived: the final decision will be made by next week.

Rumors suggest that the organizers are considering three names to replace him: Daniil Medvedev, Ben Shelton, or Arthur Fils. But there could also be another candidate who has not yet been named.

Sinner’s absence from the Arab tournament will cost him at least $1.5 million, the minimum prize money for his participation. The Italian is now reportedly setting his sights on the ATP tournament in Vienna, an event he cares deeply about and which he won last year. No calculations regarding rankings or anything else: Jannik’s only priority is to recover 100% from his joint injury.
